A tiny, almost diminutive looper shouldn’t be the least type of guitar gadget to invest in. The Rowin Tiny Looper is a good example of a compact unit you can easily replace bigger and bulkier same-function gadgets with. With it you can enjoy recording, overdubbing, and playback functions without having to go through a complex setup process. The one-key footswitch seamlessly takes you through each of the modes seamlessly, and there are up to 10 minutes of looping time you can flexibly use to your advantage.

We think the ease that comes with the footswitch is the looper’s most appealing feature. In terms of audio quality, we thank the True Bypass tech built into the unit for its ability to reproduce looped sounds at the same, uncompromised and unaltered input quality.

What’s even more convenient with this pedal is that a click of the footswitch directly takes you to record-enabled mode, from which output you can easily load onto your PC. If you need to go back to the start, you will only need to hold down on the switch to delete the recorded audio.

The miniature design is a well-appreciated plus for musicians who like the convenience of small gadgets; all thanks to advanced circuitry that makes it possible for technicians to incorporate big-unit designs into smaller sizes. With a looper that almost literally fits the palm of your hand, you can load more gadgets onto your pedalboard with ease.

The only lacking feature we think should be incorporated into future releases is support for Mac OS systems. For now, uploading and downloading is only available for Windows users. However, it’s obvious this can be remedied with the help of the internet – digital transfers from Windows to Mac is the only option now if you don’t have Windows.

All in all, we think it’s a pretty decent gadget to bring around. It might not be your next go-to looper gadget, but it’s definitely not one you would want to miss out on using.

Is it for you?

Loopers are always handy for altering parts of your sound, whether you’re only rehearsing or when you’re performing for a crowd. At $38.98, the Rowin Tiny Looper pedal is a good starting option we recommend you use.
