Description
At the Music Gallery, we are huge fans of the Relic. Most often you'll find Journeyman Relic's here but we had Fender do one of our famed and loved 63 Strat's in a Heavy Relic. So here we are! We have concocted our own 63 Stratocaster with some of our favorite specs but in a variety of cool colors. This one is finished in Surf Green. Dings and dents with arm wear, belt rash and some obviously exposed wood, combine with heavy weather checking to give you an authentically awesome vibe.
The neck is made from a piece of quarter sawn maple that will off added stability. It is shaped to a 60's C Shaped Profile. It's topped with a AAA grade piece of Rosewood that is nice and dark. The fretboard is carved to a 7.25" radius and then topped with Sanko 6105 Frets for a narrow but tall fret wire that performs great for the lead player and rhythm guy alike.
A set of Hand wound Single Coil pickups are installed. They are wound to 1960's spec so they have all the bell-like top end, smooth mid range, and warm low end you'll expect. They sound great in all 5 positions. They provide nice quack and expression in positions 2 and 4 while 1,3, and 5 are powerful but very well balanced both from string to string and pickup to pickup.
The Music Gallery has been a Fender Custom Shop dealer since their formation in 1987. We keep a bevy of about 50 Fender Custom Shop instrument in inventory at all times. Whether you're looking for Stratocaster's, Telecasters, Precision Basses or Jazz Basses we are able to help you design or find whatever the special instrument you're looking for may be!
