The Fender American Original Series resurrects a classic guitar for the modern player. Based on the ’65 Stratocaster, the American Original ‘60s Stratocaster offers you features such as vintage replica hardware, a thick "'60s C"- shaped neck, and Pure Vintage ’65 pickups to really create the look and feel of a vintage instrument. But the best part of the instrument is the synergy that the vintage features have with the modern additions: how the contemporary fretboard radius and the 5-way pickup switch work with the rest of the guitar to create a playing experience that's familiar, but still fresh!
Fender's Take:
A period of change, both for Fender and for pop culture as a whole, the 1960s saw the Strat mellow slightly as it grew up. The white pickguard was updated to mint green, and the fingerboard was switched from the original maple to rosewood, adding a smoother note to the Strat’s clear, articulate voice. The American Original ‘60s Stratocaster keeps these refinements intact while adding modern feel and pickup switching to the iconic instrument that helped birth guitar rock as we know it.
