This is a Fender Custom Shop 59 Esquire Custom Journeyman Relic in Wide Fade Chocolate 3 Tone Sunburst. How's that for a mouthful! The Esquire is a cool part of Fender's history.
An Esquire Custom borrows the Tele Custom dress of binding on the top and back. It adds definition and contrast to its look. As do the Plum Sides. Yep, the sides are finished in a dark Plum Color which meshes beautifully with the Wide Fade Chocolate Three Tone Sunburst. A 2 piece ash body was chosen then the guitar was lightly distressed as a Journeyman Relic.
The neck features a Large C Profile, cut from AA Quarter Sawn Maple for added looks and stability. The best of both worlds! The neck is topped with a AAA Rosewood fingerboard that has a 9.5" radius and 6105 Narrow Tall Frets. The neck tapers from 850" to 990" for a nice medium to full feel as you work your way up.
Hand wound 58 Telecaster Pickup are installed with the Master Volume, Master Tone and the 3 Way Switching. A shocking amount of variety exists within such this simple guitar.
