The Les Paul Classic from Gibson gives you a hearty helping of the early '60s era Les Pauls, with a modern twist. The tried-and-true Les Paul stylings are there: Mahogany back, Maple top, and Rosewood fingerboard. However, two Burstbucker 61R & 61T zebra open-coil pickups and four push-pull pots deliver powerful, crisp Les Paul tones, and tons of room for sonic exploration. Shown here in Ebony.
Gibson's Take:
The Gibson Les Paul Classic combines the early 60's style Les Paul model with some functional and time-tested modifications. As expected, the LP Classic is crafted with a mahogany back and maple top coupled with a slim taper mahogany neck and bound, rosewood fingerboard. Burstbucker 61R & 61T zebra, open-coil pickups provide classic Gibson tones from the era with a bit of extra punch thanks to the open coils. The control assembly features 4 push-pull pots which provide choices of coil tapping, phase switching and pure bypassing for functional and versatile sonic variety.
Note: Because wood is an organic material, slight variations in the grain occur naturally and add to the uniqueness of each guitar. Because of these natural variations, the grain of the instrument you receive might not perfectly match the one pictured here.
