Description
Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Todd Krause introduced this guitar in 2014: the Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster. According to Todd, this guitar expertly evokes the sound, style and spirit of the Stratocaster’s first decade while offering several modern touches, including a special Moss Green nitro finish with the impeccably distressed look of a relic treatment, gold hardware, shielded Custom Shop Fat ’50s single-coil pickups, modern wiring and more.
Master Design instruments present a distinctive new experience in Fender Custom Shop craftsmanship, putting the personalized design and favorite specs and features of a single Custom Shop master builder into a highly distinctive instrument that is then built for a limited time by the entire Custom Shop team.
While world-famous luthier Todd Krause has been building for Fender since 1991, he actually began his career as a luthier in 1981. Decades of guitar building experience has led artists like Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan to seek out Todd Krause to maintain and build their guitars.
Premium Custom Shop pickups deliver iconic Strat tone. No matter how well you play, your tone lives and dies by the pickups in your axe. This Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster sports three Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coil pickups, which are known far and wide for their classic Strat tone. These pickups deliver bright and clear cleans with the perfect amount of midrange bite. When you plug your Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster into your favorite tube amplifier, you'll find everything from smooth mellow tones to outrageously aggressive leads, all within a casual twist of a volume knob.
Relic finish and hardware for vintage vibe. As you can imagine, a true '50s Strat would show signs of wear and tear, and the Fender Custom Shop Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster is finished to represent those years of playing. The worn finish on the body and neck, and the aged and slightly rusty hardware will make you wonder if it really isn't a true vintage guitar. And while the relic look will appeal to Fender fans and collectors, the Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster has tone and playability any discerning player will respect.
This guitar is in on trade and it is in great shape. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
