Description
This 2002 Taylor LKSM Leo Kottke Signature Model 12 String Acoustic-Electric is in on trade and it is in nice shape. It is in good cosmetic shape though it has been played so it shows typical play wear on a guitar that has been treated very nicely but played for almost the last 20 years. The guitar has a transducer pickup installed in it and comes with its original hardshell case.
This is a supremely cool sounding guitar! Granted, I LOVE C Standard tuning and have had a guitar in this tuning going on 20 years now. Add in the 12 string component and you have one ear-catching sound at your disposal! Somewhere between a baritone and a standard 12, this guitar bellows with booming bass, and chimes with top-end sweetness and clarity. The wonderful combo of a Jumbo Body, a Sitka Spruce Top, and Tropical Mahogany back and sides yields an absolutely massive, focused, articulate, and deep sound.
From the Taylor Website... "One of the most celebrated and popular 12-strings ever made, the Leo Kottke Signature Model incorporates tropical American mahogany back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood binding, and special bracing with a Jumbo body shape. Rosewood binding and a thin band of green purfling add subtle accents, while the inlay-free fretboard is profound in its simplicity. The model uses heavy gauge strings and is tuned to C#, which yields Kottke's rumbling, throaty piano guitar sound."
Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
